Not only does it take time to gain top rankings, it also takes work to hold those rankings. In addition to it taking time, Google runs several major updates to their algorithm yearly which can cause temporary disruptions to your rankings and may require changes or fixes to your website or optimization to comply with Google’s new standards.
We won’t promise you quick top rankings, but we will tell you, based on your current domain name age, history with Google and competitors in the top ten for your keywords, an estimated time to expect results and provide you reports tracking the progress as we go. We use only “White Hat” techniques which is just a term for work that won’t involve tricks to get quick results that will eventually get you penalized in Google. We also work to optimize your content and provide our recommended changes to you to confirm you approve what we’re saying and how we’re saying it before it’s ever made live on your website. This is likely the biggest step of SEO because without realistically obtainable keywords and the best keywords that will bring you traffic then it’s like a car without a steering wheel.
Once the keywords have been approved we will then work on optimizing your pages with meta tags, h tags, image optimization and content optimization. This is key because “content is king!” Google has a lot of requirements of your content such as to be of a certain word count, include intent for Rank Brain and to of course make sense to human readers too, oh and it has to mention the keywords we’re targeting too. Monthly SEO Work & Reporting
Monthly SEO work will begin which includes submitting and monitoring XML sitemaps to Google Search Console, tracking your analytics and work on inbound link building from reputable sources plus much more. As well we will generate and send a monthly report tracking the progress of your keywords and traffic.
Local SEO requires some additional work such as working with your Google Business Listing which can help with map-based results. As well as adding additional pages for the different regions of the Greater Toronto Area you may wish to target such as Markham, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Oakville and more. If you are in the heart of Toronto then it may even need to be narrowed down to your specific neighborhood.

Several times a year Google will run “Major Updates” to their algorithm. These updates can change the rules as to what they are looking for. For instance August 2018 introduced the E.A.T update which made showing Google and visitors that you were an Expert and Authority in your industry and that you were Trustworthy. May 2019 brought Mobile Centric indexing, meaning that Google looked at and indexed your site as if it were a smartphone. If your website isn’t mobile-friendly or quick to load it impacted your website’s ability to rank.
Look at the sheer number of updates run over the past two years in the graphic above. Each one of those has the ability to impact rankings permanently.
